I visited Bill on Saturday. It was good to be there with Bill and to touch base with Kris.
It seems that's Bill's organ functioning has improved over the past 15 days of hospitalization.
However, the quality of his life has clearly declined significantly. It is very hard for me
to see our robust Bill unlikely to ever leave a bed or have even limited normal cognitive
functioning. I couldn't even get Bill to meet my eyes over several hours. Abby is doing
a terrific job, but I don't think Bill is very comfortable and he's certainly not happy.
