so they brought him a new air bed, much better. much more comfortable. it moves very slowly so his skin doesn't break down.
they finally got a good draw for blood samples. his breathing and all levels being monitored have been steady and good.
he's resting and we are watching CNN keeping up with the news on Egypt, but with the sound off. he seems to be interested in and understand whats happening on the screen when i talk to him about the uprising and Mubarak's ousting by the people.
many other emergencies occurred on this floor today requiring most of the nurses and attendants, so i have been keep a close look over him. they have been administering his meds on time, etc.
The throat/ voice specialists said to keep swabbing his mouth with the damp sponge on a stick that they provide. i ask if he wants water and then put fresh water in a Styrofoam cup. (i smuggled in some Aquafina brand water, the water from the sink tastes terrible) and coughing is good, and trying to keep his mouth clean. wondering if i can bring a razor shaver and shaving cream in ?
he has been in less of a panic and much more settled down, falling asleep for longer stretches of time, with out Adivan. hope he can sleep tonight.
Xochitl is a very nice nurse, and that helps.
What a relief!!
