As of Wed morning, Bill's vitals are all looking good. He is breathing on his own very comfortably. He still can not talk, and is able to only mouth a few simple words. He does not seem to be in as much pain or as frightened as he had been in the previous few days; but he still has moments in which he is gripped by fear and it is hard to see his eyes popping widely with fear.
His kidney doctor, a somewhat formal mannered East Indian in his 30's, dropped by and said that his kidneys are recovering at a very slow rate. He thinks that Bill's kidneys may never be the same.
The main concern today is his upcoming CT scan. Because his mental status is somewhat confused, the doctors are worried that his brain might have been affected by oxygen deprivation secondary to congestive heart failure. No word on when today they will do the test.
I am also worried that his scleroderma-caused-blisters on his left finger tips might burst leading to infection. I am hoping that his rheumotologist is watching this situation.
Bye for now,
Kris
