What continues to be maddening is that there is no one doctor (or other medical practitioner) who is translating all of this to the family and who is in Bill's corner, coordinating all that's happening and making sure that Bill is getting palliative care so that the illness is treated while he is made as comfortable as possible.    Arlene

  1. I can't imagine the frustration with the medical world. I think the cardiologist was writing that Bill's electrical/conduction system in the heart wasn't helped by the drug cardevil ( Coreg ) and he wants to discontinue that medication. What he plans beyond that isn't stated, except he doesn't think he is a candidate for the pacemaker. I don't think this helps you much, but I think the charge nurse or the patient advocate you have met with before could be helpful in answering questions about Bill's palliative care. I think your question is what are they doing, planning to do besides keeping him comfortable, as pain free as possible. You might ask about CPR being done if he experiences another episode like Thursday am.

I am thinking of you all,
