Abigail here. very tired! i stayed over again and it was a restless night with lots of lights on and nurses talking. they are doing their job, and i am grateful they are checking on Dad the whole night, giving him bathes etc, but its really hard to sleep through it. i think i'll bring my own sleeping bag, ear plugs and eye mask as soon as i gather these things up.

For Dad i requested a warming blanket through the doctors. when i have asked  for a heating blanket the nurses keep saying that they don't have them on this floor or its not in the orders, so now it is. Dads legs and feet are very cold. and i have been warming them up with hot water on a towel holding his feet until they warm up a bit for the last 2 days. a heating blanket will be great.
i also asked one of the primary doctors to make sure the OT an PT come see him even if he is not 'progressing'.

I talked to the dietitian this AM and she reiterated that he is getting more than enough calories, 2,200 a day and he is losing weight because of his internal problems, losing muscle because he's not moving, plus the dialysis removes protein and extra fluid. she said it will take weeks to see any weight gain.
besides this he is complaining less about pain and seems to be suffering less. Things are still not good, but I would say improved from a few weeks ago in general.
Sunny stopped by this morning and Dad just lit up. very happy to see her. He also received mail from Betsy, Ivan and Leah Light, and  Julianne. i read the cards and letters aloud and he looked at the photos Besty sent. we haven't read the comics yet! thanks everyone. he appreciated everything.
Mac Ryland is coming to visit today and Dad is excited to see him!
